Our season kicks off with the very best that Redlands has to offer. Start the journey with a celebratory brass fanfare written in commemoration of the centennial of the University of Redlands. It’s love at first listen when you experience Wayne Bohrnstedt’s first symphony and find yourself humming the theme of the second movement after the concert. Before that, we will feature Don McCue narrating one of Aaron Copland’s most frequently performed works with a distinctly familiar American style of symphonic music accompanying the words of our 16th president. Join us this Veterans Day as we recognize all five branches of the armed forces – and all veterans and their families in attendance – with a specially written medley Salute to the Armed Forces.

About the Guest Artist
Don McCue, director of the A.K. Smiley Public Library.
McCue worked as a researcher at the National Archives. He took over the special collections division of the A.K. Smiley Library in 1986. He was named the director of A.K. Smiley Library in 2013.
Lincoln Portrait has had a number of famous narrators including Neil Armstrong, Tom Hanks, Charlton Heston, James Earl Jones, Margaret Thatcher, and President Barack Obama. It is only fitting that a longtime fixture of the Redlands community and the person who oversees the Lincoln Memorial Shrine fill such a prominent role.
