The new Redlands Community Orchestra will perform its second-ever concert at 3pm March 9 at Redlands High School’s Clock Auditorium. The performance will feature Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4 in A Major, Op. 90 (Italian), Beethoven’s Egmont, Op. 40, and Johan Strauss’s Emperor Waltzes, Op. 437, and will be conducted by James Benanti. The concert is free of charge and family friendly. No tickets are necessary.
The Redlands Community Orchestra was founded in September 2013 as an outlet for amateur musicians in the Redlands area to play orchestral music together for fun. It is an independent, all-volunteer community organization which seeks to share the joy of music-making with its members and its audience. Approximately 55 musicians of all ages will play string, woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments in the concert.
The concert is sponsored by the Redlands High School Instrumental Music Department.
