Sakari Dixon Vanderveer

VIOLA

Sakari Dixon Vanderveer is a private music teacher, freelance musician, and composer in the Greater Los Angeles area as well as the Inland Empire. She is a Violin/Viola instructor with Bow and Quill Music.

She has played with the Redlands Community Orchestra since 2015. She also plays with the Inland Empire Composers’ Concert Series, the San Andreas Chamber Orchestra, Music Viva. She has performed in the past with the University of Redlands Orchestra, the Mt. San Jacinto College Orchestra, the Riverside County Philharmonic, the Lyric Symphony, the Southland Symphony Orchestra, the Redlands Symphony Orchestra, and the Riverside Lyric Opera Orchestra.

She has studied viola from Kira Blumberg, violin and viola with Mark Braunstein. She studies composition with Reena Esmail, and has studied with Anthony Suter. She holds a Bachelor of Music, Composition, summa cum laude from the University of Redlands.
